The length-to-beam ratios are 7.78 for Tiger, 7.01 for historical Queen Elizabeth, 7.66 for the proposed ship, 7.9 for Lion and 6.93 for Iron Duke. The historical battleship hull follows the Iron Duke design line in this interpretation. Adopting Tiger's longer form offers a different route toward efficient speed. The proposed length is 24.8 metres greater than Iron Duke's, while remaining below Hood's size. Yards capable of building Tiger should therefore be able to accommodate this version of Queen Elizabeth. A finer hull supports the feasibility of greater speed, although the ratio alone cannot establish the final performance.

Hull proportions and the yards that could build them
Length-to-beam ratios explain the proposed gain in speed efficiency and its compatibility with existing yards.
