G3 contains useful technology and design ideas despite the awkward position of its third main turret. More of that work could have informed Nelson and Rodney without treating the completed ships as failures. A revised battleship might raise the secondary C turret above B in a Dido-like stepped arrangement. Triple 16-inch guns remain attractive because they performed well in the Nelson class. A carrier conversion could remove the main battery while retaining useful secondary and anti-aircraft weapons. The stripped hull promises an enormous flight deck and hangar with room for a powerful air group.

G3 design lessons and carrier-conversion potential
G3 technology could improve Nelson and Rodney, while the same hull offers striking capacity as a carrier conversion with a large flight deck and hangar.
