Why early Type 83 renderings should not be treated as a design

Concept art will change repeatedly before authorization, and the Type 26 build schedule leaves the Type 83 yard decision far in the future.

Question

What should readers make of Type 83 concept renderings?

Short answer

Very little until a final design is authorized; the program remains distant and many concepts will appear first.

Notes

A Type 83 rendering is evidence of exploration, not a settled requirement or funded ship. Many concepts will appear before the design is authorized, just as early Type 26 art differed sharply from the eventual frigate. The second Type 26 batch must also clear the relevant yard before Type 83 construction becomes realistic. Later frigate work, potentially including the Type 32 successor, could therefore become firm before the destroyer concept does.
