Could a Beaufighter be useful as a modern maritime-patrol aircraft?

Possibly for some roles, but space for modern computers and communications equipment would limit the conversion.

A Beaufighter-sized aircraft is considered as a possible modern patrol platform. Some uses seem possible, but modern maritime-patrol avionics would have little room in the airframe. Large jetliners provide space for the computers and communications equipment used in contemporary patrol aircraft. The suggestion therefore remains conditional on what equipment and duties the smaller aircraft would need.
