Use V/STOL fighters to launch air defense faster

The proposed supersonic V/STOL fighter could operate alongside conventional aircraft on a large carrier. It might also use the flight decks of more helicopter-capable Fearless-class landing ships, even if it was not permanently based aboard them. On a fleet carrier, a rolling takeoff would let fighters launch without waiting for a catapult to reset. Fighters could use the angled deck or another suitable clear position while the catapults launched strike aircraft. This would allow a defensive fighter surge and a strike launch to proceed together.
