Fuel load, full displacement and Suez access

The 30,000-ton estimate excludes fuel and water, which could bring full load to roughly 37,000-38,000 tons.

Notes

Standard displacement and full-load displacement are kept separate in the estimate. Tiger's stated fuel allowance is about 3,900 tons of oil and 3,400 tons of coal. The hypothetical battleships are expected to carry less, with around 5,000 tons suggested as a typical battleship fuel allowance. Adding fuel, water and other supplies gives a tentative full-load estimate near 37,000-38,000 tons. The proposed beam remains 28 metres, matching the historical class. With its unchanged beam, the longer ship should still be able to pass through the Suez Canal.
