In this branch, the proposed Agincourt already belongs to a Queen Elizabeth design approaching 28 knots. A separate six-18-inch-gun version would therefore offer little speed advantage. The longer hull gives more space for those weapons, but the priority could be increasing the number of ships able to perform the new fast-battleship role. Continuing the common class design would provide another pace-setting ship without requiring that distinctive armament.
