International H-60 derivatives and the limits of commonality

The Coast Guard Jayhawk, Mitsubishi-built Japanese variants, and the experimental Speed Hawk show both the H-60 family's adaptability and the point at which commonality becomes debatable.

Notes

The Coast Guard Jayhawk and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' version for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force are operational branches of the wider H-60 family. Mitsubishi also works on Black Hawk variants. The experimental Speed Hawk concept pushes that adaptability much farther through major changes to the familiar airframe. The Black Hawk and Seahawk shape offers options for continued development, although the future concepts discussed have yet to enter service. Extensive redesign makes family commonality harder to define, and the claimed similarities between Speed Hawk and the original aircraft remain uncertain.
