Is there a good book or two to recommend on the PBY Catalina?

Not yet: the books considered were either too basic for a useful survey or too narrowly focused on one operation to cover the aircraft as a whole.

No PBY Catalina book reviewed here provides a rounded introduction worth recommending. The broad treatments were so basic that an ordinary web overview could provide nearly as much. Other books concentrated on one operation or specialist subject and did not explain the aircraft type as a whole. Those focused studies may still be useful, but they do not fill the need for a substantial general survey.
