Tiger remained in commission until 1931 under her final captain, Arthur Bedford. Her withdrawal followed the London Naval Treaty and British plans to free tonnage for the next generation of capital ships. The replacement program then suffered repeated delays before work began on the King George V class. Tiger was sold for breaking in 1932, although accounts differ on when physical dismantling started. Treaty accounting had therefore removed an existing capability well before its planned replacement reached the fleet.

The London treaty removes Tiger before her replacement is ready
Tiger left service in 1931 as treaty tonnage was cleared for a new generation, but delays postponed the King George V class and left a capability gap.
