Separating game fittings from a plausible 1920s ship

A combat-game design carries radar, sonar, and advanced machinery that make sense in play but distort a 1920s displacement calculation.

Notes

The fully equipped version displaces roughly 70,000 tons after allowing for a long high-speed range, heavy protection, detection equipment, and advanced gun machinery. Its game specification is about 260 metres long, 33 metres in beam, and 10 metres in draught, with 144,000 shaft horsepower on four shafts. Reinforced bulkheads, maximum torpedo protection and anti-flooding settings, and a triple bottom make this deliberately the strongest simulation fit. Radar, sonar, autoloaders, and electro-hydraulic turrets are game-era necessities that distort an early-1920s design. The game's very long range figure at 28 knots also exceeds the historical requirement. Removing those assumptions begins the work of turning an entertaining design into a historical counterfactual.
