Why wartime vehicle production may favor 8x8s

European tank-building capacity had become highly concentrated. If a future war demanded rapid mass production, 8x8 armoured vehicles and perhaps infantry fighting vehicles would be more practical candidates than conventional main battle tanks. Tanks might return to very large production runs if designs become smaller and uncrewed. This is an industrial forecast about what factories could scale, without claiming that tanks have lost their battlefield value.
