A delayed war and 2,000 hp Fleet Air Arm aircraft

An alternate-history answer places 2,000 horsepower British naval aircraft around 1941 if war and production disruption had been delayed.

Question

What difference would earlier 2,000 horsepower aircraft engines have made to Fleet Air Arm aircraft?

Short answer

With war delayed, they might have reached Royal Navy service around 1941, but RAF priorities would still have constrained allocation.

Notes

The engine order came in 1939. If war had arrived later, aircraft using that power could plausibly have entered Royal Navy and RAF service around 1941. The Air Ministry would probably have resisted giving the Navy such powerful fighters before the RAF received comparable machines. A later follow-up suggests that delay might also have left Britain's development pipeline relatively stronger because German designs had already been pulled forward into construction. War timing and inter-service priorities both shaped when an available design could reach squadrons.
