Recasting the Courageous class as proto-super cruisers

Could Courageous-class ships be converted into proto-super cruisers with 9.2-inch guns?

Yes; a more proportionate 9.2-inch armament could make the fast, lightly protected hulls much more useful as large cruisers.

The Courageous-class hulls combined high speed and large size with an armament and protection balance that made their original role difficult. A conversion to multiple 9.2-inch guns would reduce the mismatch between very heavy weapons and a lightly protected platform. The resulting ships could become useful proto-super cruisers. The conversion would give them a coherent cruiser mission instead of preserving Fisher's extreme large-light-cruiser concept.
