F3s, a common 15-inch gun, and continuous yard work

A wider F3 bargain could standardize heavy guns, produce an eleven-ship fast battle line, and maintain annual capital-ship construction.

Notes

A larger F3 program could support a common 15-inch/50 gun across the new ships, the Queen Elizabeths, and the R-class. Hypothetical machinery upgrades would bring the five Queen Elizabeths to roughly 28 knots. Together with six F3s, they would provide eleven fast capital ships able to outpace the contemporary battle lines discussed in the exchange. The Rs would provide additional security until replacement became possible. A further treaty bargain might even produce a seventh F3. Delivering about one ship annually from 1924 through 1930 would keep capital-ship yards active for seven years.
