Carrier GCAP and the cost of redesign

Will there be a carrier version of GCAP?

No carrier version is expected because adapting the land-based aircraft would require extensive and expensive redesign.

The expectation offered is that GCAP will remain land based. Carrier conversion is treated as a major airframe redesign. Its cost explains the dismissal of that prospect. No naval variant already under development is described.
