In the December 2025 account, HMS Glasgow and HMS Cardiff are fitting out, while Belfast, Birmingham and Sheffield are under construction. Glasgow is visibly advanced, including its five-inch gun, although service entry is still expected in 2027 or 2028. Fitting out is suggested as a stage that could be accelerated. The lack of a Newcastle construction announcement raises a suspicion about the Norwegian order, without establishing which hull would change hands. Investment in Glasgow's production facilities also supports the expectation that Type 83 will use the same high-end escort yards, unless its requirements expand substantially. Canada's Fraser entered full-rate production in April 2025, but available construction photographs of the Canadian and Australian ships are much less plentiful than those of the British programme.
