Britain's first move: expand what is already in production

Britain's surviving shipbuilding, aerospace, and nuclear capabilities could support rapid expansion of frigate and submarine orders.

Notes

The UK's habit of retaining many capabilities in small numbers could become an advantage if each one had to expand quickly. Existing Type 26, Type 31, and submarine production lines offer a faster starting point than clean-sheet programs. Mature aerospace, nuclear, and shipbuilding knowledge would let Britain supply systems that the United States no longer provided at scale. The constraint is that Britain would need more ships for its own fleet while also becoming a supplier and industrial partner to Canada, Australia, and other allies.
