The Walrus as a cruiser reconnaissance tool

A Supermarine Walrus expanded La Argentina's ability to scout, search, and operate beyond the horizon.

Notes

The Walrus remained useful to the Royal Navy for reconnaissance and search-and-rescue work throughout the war. Its continued production competed for Supermarine capacity even while the firm was building Spitfires, evidence of the floatplane's operational value. La Argentina acquired a Mark IV in 1940, giving her a capable shipborne aircraft. Such aviation facilities extended the reach of a long-range cruiser.
