After Jutland, Tiger continued with the fleet and supported the Second Battle of Heligoland Bight without coming into gun range. A 1916-17 refit reinforced deck and turret-roof armour and added rangefinders. The ship also received a Sopwith Camel flying-off platform on Q turret and a searchlight platform around the third funnel. In 1918 the topmast and forward observation position were rebuilt to carry a more substantial spotting platform and longer rangefinders. These changes followed the fleet's experience with protection, shipborne aviation, and fire control.
