Torpedoes overturn the gun-count advantage

The simulated battle shows torpedo damage and fire overwhelming the simple expectation that twelve heavy guns should beat ten.

Notes

Computer control takes over after a twelve-gun British battleship is set against a ten-gun German opponent. The extra heavy guns do not decide the engagement cleanly because both ships score torpedo hits and develop serious fires. Torpedoes become the main source of the British ship's deterioration, prompting the idea of a second run without them to isolate their effect. The result belongs to a simulation, yet it shows how one design feature can dominate the outcome and complicate a comparison based only on main-battery count.
