Useful torpedoes and difficult fire-control integration

The torpedoes and hydrophones were useful, while later fire-control additions required work to overcome compatibility problems.

Notes

The torpedoes worked, and the hydrophone system was useful. Later fire-control equipment drew on the Italian Galileo system. A mechanical ranging computer intended to improve accuracy encountered compatibility problems elsewhere in the installation. The equipment eventually worked together to an extent. Adding a more capable component required further work before it could improve the complete system.
