Royal Navy logic: modernize a proven carrier-battleship

The Royal Navy concept modernizes a veteran Venator with stronger guns and shields while retaining its fighter capacity.

Notes

The British design treats a late Venator as the equivalent of a Queen Elizabeth-class veteran such as HMS Warspite. Extra main-battery guns run along the centerline where the earlier ship had large hangar doors, while fighters continue using the bow and side openings. Modernization would increase power and shield strength, with additional armor if practicable. The heavier battery would let the ship fight before launching its fighters or support their attack from a distance. Reusing an established hull suits an interwar Royal Navy whose opportunities for new construction were constrained.
