Rocket-assisted Tallboy as an answer to giant battleships

The rocket-assisted Tallboy proposal adds eight RP-3 rockets to a heavy bomb to increase impact speed and penetration.

Notes

A rocket-assisted Tallboy is jokingly offered as an RAF answer to the enormous battleships under construction in the game. The underlying proposal pairs a five-ton Tallboy with eight RP-3 rockets, arranged in twos between its fins. In the reading of the project documents offered here, the extra impact speed was intended to improve penetration of bunkers. The rockets would accelerate an existing heavy bomb instead of requiring a wholly new weapon. The idea is placed among postwar British experiments that added rocket assistance to established weapons.
