Chapter · 42:32-47:37

Balancing speed, protection, range, and secondary fire in a campaign battleship

A redesign of the campaign's Renown class shows how a capital ship's protection, speed, endurance, and secondary batteries are traded against one another.

Notes

The campaign presents its Renown class as some of the world's largest battleships and a replacement for older Sovereign-style ships. Its dense 6-inch and 3-inch secondary armament matters alongside the main battery. The revision improves protection while retaining 27 knots and about 9,000 kilometres of range. Capital-ship design here is a connected set of readiness and mission trade-offs rather than a search for the largest gun alone.
