Why Renown, Repulse, and Hood would age quickly

Six 15-inch guns remained balanced in the fleet that produced Renown and Repulse, but G3, N3, and possible twelve-gun successors would rapidly erode that balance.

Notes

Renown's six-gun battery was viable within the capital-ship generation around it. A fleet built around G3 and N3 would leave both Renown and Repulse increasingly outclassed. Hood would also struggle to remain viable for long against that new generation. The next round of designs might have grown to twelve heavy guns as shore infrastructure expanded. A successful design can become obsolete when the surrounding fleet standard changes even if its original logic was sound.
