Chapter · 2:23:02-2:30:29

Recovery range and flight-deck throughput

Two fighters are lost after the carrier overruns their recovery zone and a crowded landing queue consumes the remaining time.

Notes

Two fighters are lost because the carrier has moved outside their recovery zone while other aircraft fill the landing queue. The players reverse course and regain range, but deck recovery still consumes the remaining time. The game compresses ship movement, deck handling, and landing intervals into a mission clock. Even so, it shows that aircraft recovery depends on both geography and flight-deck throughput. A carrier can lose aircraft after a successful sortie if it fails to reserve position and deck time for their return.
