The Queen Elizabeth class as an unrealized fast-battleship idea

Higher-powered boilers could have made the Queen Elizabeth class a far more disruptive 28-knot fast-battleship proposition.

Notes

The Queen Elizabeths appear here as the first fast battleships, a step beyond the earlier 13.5-inch-gunned super-dreadnoughts. The argument holds that contemporary technology was not developed as fully as it might have been. Small-tube boilers and extra power could have pushed the class toward 28 knots. That potential informs the speed requirement of the early-1920s concept developed in the video.
