A second-hand Omaha-class cruiser is proposed as another Norwegian option. Removing the casemate guns would allow the superstructure to be reduced, while twin 5-inch/38 mounts would replace the twin 6-inch guns. Retained or reinstalled torpedo tubes would support close-range attacks. The resulting ship would combine some armour with high speed, torpedoes, and dual-purpose gunfire, although this remains a proposed reconstruction.
