Multi-carrier practice enlarges Taranto and Pacific cooperation

More large decks and established tandem doctrine make early-war multi-carrier strikes and Anglo-American Pacific task groups more likely.

Notes

The British already explored multi-carrier operations, but historical global commitments kept their decks dispersed. A larger carrier force could make the opening strike on German bases and the attack on Taranto true multi-carrier operations. The combined decks would produce a larger concentrated air group while retaining the Royal Navy's emphasis on sustained flying. British and American carrier-battlecruiser groups could then join in the Pacific after Pearl Harbor, applying practices developed before the war.
