Hunter and CSC as modern all-round Tribal-type escorts

The Australian and Canadian versions resemble modern all-round Tribals: escorts able to handle air, submarine, and surface tasks while carrying more weight than their label suggests.

Notes

The analogy is about fleet function, not hull form or weapons. The wartime Tribal was a versatile destroyer that could contribute against aircraft, submarines, and surface ships while providing presence associated with larger vessels. Hunter and CSC are similarly intended to be broadly useful, highly capable escorts for smaller navies. Their frigate label matters less than the range of missions they must cover and their ability to punch above that label.
