K3 carrier conversions and naval aviation

Very large K3 conversions could accelerate carrier capacity and alter interwar fleet-air doctrine.

Notes

Converting K3 hulls might produce carriers approaching a hundred aircraft earlier than historically possible. Such capacity could accelerate British carrier doctrine and strengthen Royal Navy arguments for regaining control of its own aviation. Their size would also raise the carrier tonnage and hull scale allocated to American and Japanese rivals. The cost of matching that enlarged treaty system might destabilize Japan's finances, sharpen its demand for oil, or bring Pacific confrontation forward into the 1930s.
