Modelling a Kii-based Japanese battleship

The Kii-based model approximates a 42,000-ton standard-displacement ship with a 47,000-ton game allowance and explicit armament compromises.

Notes

Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts does not distinguish standard displacement from full load in this exercise. The Japanese model therefore receives a 47,000-ton allowance, representing the proposed 42,000-ton standard limit plus an assumed 5,000 tons of additional load. Its ten main guns retain the Kii-based arrangement, although four triple turrets are considered a possible alternative for greater firepower. The model substitutes eighteen 6-inch secondary guns for sixteen 5.5-inch guns, and its 16-inch main guns approximate Japanese 410 mm weapons. It also carries a quadruple torpedo launcher on each side. One in-game funnel complex provides sufficient efficiency, so a second funnel is omitted to avoid adding weight merely for appearance.
