Yugumo construction before the Pearl Harbor operation

The schedules of Yugumo and Makigumo test how much Japan's chosen yards could accelerate before its planned opening offensive.

Notes

Yugumo is dated from a June 1940 laying down to completion on 5 December 1941. Makigumo follows from December 1940 to March 1942. Japan's role in choosing the timing of its opening Pacific operation gives these schedules particular strategic importance. The criticism asks why Japan did not accelerate completion of the first batch before that operation. A proposed explanation is that the selected yards were already limited in what they could deliver.
