Breaking the Jabiim siege in a Star Wars strategy campaign

A campaign problem at Jabiim illustrates how divided fleets, fixed orbital defences, hyperlane geography, and repeated failed assaults can turn one system into an attritional trap.

Question

How should the Rebel Alliance break the siege of Jabiim after repeated failed orbital invasions?

Short answer

Concentrate the separated Rebel fleets, mass heavy ships and strike craft to secure orbit, and avoid further piecemeal attacks against the fortified hyperlane chokepoint.

Notes

This strategy-game scenario places at least thirty Victory I and thirty Victory II Star Destroyers, smaller craft and two hypervelocity cannons around Jabiim. Nebula-class Star Destroyers are excluded as too new. Fleet proposes massing heavy Rebel capital ships, MC80 winged cruisers and separate B-wing and Y-wing forces to secure orbit for the ground troops. His earlier attacks failed partly because he could not unite the two separated halves of his forces. In that version of the game, Jabiim controls the only hyperlane access to Mon Calamari, so it cannot simply be bypassed. Repeated attacks and reinforcement allowed the fighting to grow into a prolonged battle of attrition.
