On the proposed uninterrupted 1,200-day schedule, Implacable could join the fleet in June 1942 and the other carrier in March 1943. Implacable would be sent to reinforce the substantial British force already in the Far East. British capital ships and carriers would give American and Dutch cruisers and destroyers a battle-worthy core around which to organize ABDA command. The lighter Allied ships would in turn provide the support Britain needed to make its heavy force work. Japan would probably have to send a force to challenge this concentration. Allied intelligence would try to arrange a combined operation in which British and American carriers caught the Kido Butai between them, although the resulting battle is left open.
