Imperial armies let Britain prioritise sea and air power

Britain can concentrate on naval and air expansion because the Indian Army and Dominion forces add deployable land power across the Empire.

Notes

Britain's response to German naval expansion rests on an imperial division of labour. In this scenario, London would prioritise the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force because the British Indian Army supplies much of the Empire's deployable mass, with Australian, New Zealand, and Canadian forces adding more. The British Army remains an institutional and infrastructure core, but it is one of several available land forces. Colonial and Dominion governments can fund growth in their own armies while Britain concentrates spending on maritime and air defence. Empire-wide resources can therefore support naval procurement without requiring Britain to neglect ground warfare.
