Building the German counterpart with different assumptions

A second counterfactual design gives the German ship period-inspired crew, fuel, and fire-control assumptions before comparing it with the British vessel.

Notes

The German opponent is a simulation construct based on period-inspired assumptions. Its design receives a seasoned crew, mixed coal-and-oil firing, stereoscopic rangefinding, and upgraded protection and fire-control systems. Displacement pressure reduces the proposed battery to ten 14-inch guns and holds speed near 21 knots, while the British design reaches a twelve-gun broadside at higher speed. The battle therefore tests two deliberately different design packages, so its result depends on the entered assumptions as well as tactics.
