GCAP availability cannot be judged before an aircraft is flying

Concern about poor GCAP availability remains premature without an aircraft to test.

Question

Is concern that GCAP will have a very low availability rate well founded?

Short answer

Its availability cannot yet be known because a test aircraft has not been built and flown.

Notes

A firm availability forecast is premature at this stage. British and Japanese experience provides some grounds for optimism, but performance must be demonstrated by an aircraft operating in the air.
