N3 is presented as an exceptionally protected and heavily armed centre for a British battle line. Its armour and 18-inch guns would make it a mobile citadel around which other ships could operate. G3 represents the other end of the design spectrum: a rapid task-force ship intended to engage at range and manoeuvre with supporting forces. Both concepts answer operational questions that Incomparable's fixation on the largest possible guns largely ignores. Their value comes from how weapons, protection, and speed support an assigned fleet role.
