G3 belt and deck armor figures

Was G3's belt only seven inches thick, or was that a deck-armor figure?

The cited book gives a 12-14-inch belt and a 3-8-inch deck, with thickness varying by location. Seven inches does not appear as the belt figure.

The available book figures put G3's belt at 12-14 inches. Deck armor varies from three to eight inches by location. The barbettes have a separate 11-14-inch range. A seven-inch figure therefore cannot simply be treated as the belt thickness, and comparisons need to distinguish the protected parts of the ship.
