One possible CCV programme would follow Type 31 on the same production line, continuing the earlier Type 32 idea. Design changes during Type 31 construction have delayed that sequence. Arrowhead 140 and Arrowhead 160 are possible platforms, with related designs also being offered to the United States. The eventual choice remains open. A nominally new programme would therefore inherit production decisions and delays from the ships already being built.
