What ship, class or fleet would most improve the Royal Navy?
Short answerA new LHD or Type 83 class is the priority, while a full expansion would add support ships and carriers together with much larger graving docks.
NotesA new landing helicopter dock is the priority if the choice is limited to one ship, while a class-wide choice produces nine of the proposed Type 83 design. The wider fleet includes LHD variants, Royal Fleet Auxiliary support and another pair of carriers. It also expands existing graving docks and adds a new Portsmouth dock able to accept much larger hulls. Maintenance infrastructure is part of fleet design rather than an afterthought.
