Eskimo's survival at Narvik was followed by further severe damage. Her bow had to be replaced again after a collision with Javelin, and she later suffered major bomb damage in 1943. Between repairs she participated in the Bismarck chase and a wide range of missions. Her service included Operation Torch, Operation Husky, and Operation Neptune with other Tribals. Repeated returns to service depended on a versatile ship and sustained repair capacity, while the damage and casualties remained severe.
