Heavy guns and director fire control at Dogger Bank

Two 15-inch ships and three 13.5-inch ships form one proposed force for a more destructive pursuit.

Notes

A British force maintaining 28 knots would deny the Germans their historical opportunity to pull away. One suggested arrangement combines Tiger and Queen Elizabeth with three 13.5-inch ships. At the quoted opening distance of about 18,000 yards, the heavier guns would add to the pressure on Moltke and Seydlitz. Gunnery performance still matters: Queen Elizabeth's director fire control and the shooting of the other ships remain part of the assessment. The proposed force has a large firepower advantage, but the damage it inflicts depends on making effective use of it.
