A large dock is not the same as shipbuilding capacity

A critique of the campaign economy distinguishes the largest hull a yard can accept from the total industrial capacity available across an empire.

Notes

The game's economy treats the maximum size of one yard as if it were closely related to total shipbuilding capacity. In this campaign, individual yards can accept 530,000-ton hulls, yet the empire's whole construction allowance amounts to fewer than three such ships. That sits awkwardly with control of 215 provinces and an economy that should include many yards, suppliers, and labor pools. The complaint concerns a game abstraction rather than a measured estimate of historical British output. The underlying procurement distinction is clear: dock dimensions set the largest hull one site can build, while national capacity depends on the number of yards and the industrial network supporting them.
