The Spanish side receives a large hull, 25-knot speed, oil firing, seasoned crews, anti-torpedo protection, and all-or-nothing armour. A conventional aft-turret arrangement makes the result look jokingly like a Spanish Iowa, while five-inch secondaries consume some of the remaining margin. The ship is explicitly fictional, and even its 25-knot speed exceeds what Spanish ships of the period actually achieved. Its capabilities belong to the game scenario rather than the historical Spanish Navy.

Building an explicitly ahistorical Spanish opponent
The opposing design becomes a large, 25-knot Spanish battleship whose generous armament is separated clearly from historical Spanish capability.
