A modern wooden sailing warship becomes a larger Warrior

A constrained design exercise combines the size and broadside of a first rate with the protection concept of HMS Warrior.

Question

What would you build if a modern navy required a wooden sailing warship without steam power?

Short answer

The answer chooses a very large 112-gun sailing ironclad: essentially HMS Warrior's armored concept enlarged and adapted to rely entirely on sail.

Notes

Without steam, the ship still needs a powerful sailing rig and the handling qualities of a ship of the line. Modern knowledge would push the hull toward an enormous armored sailing vessel rather than a replica wooden three-decker. The result resembles a larger Warrior stripped of machinery and optimized around sail, armor, and a heavy gun battery.
