Shipyard firefighting with seawater

Direct access to the water gave shipyards a ready firefighting supply during air attacks, with treatment needed afterward.

Notes

Shipyards often had pumps drawing directly from the water beside them. That access helped them fight fires when German bombing struck. The resulting firefighting supply could be salt water. Ships were expected to tolerate it provided they received appropriate treatment afterward.
