An unlimited-budget Tiger becomes a new command cruiser

The most extensive Tiger proposal retains the name and six-inch guns while replacing almost the entire ship.

Notes

The final proposal treats the unlimited budget as permission for a largely new cruiser with a 22-metre beam. Both twin six-inch turrets move forward, supported by four OTO Melara 76 mm guns and four Phalanx systems. Roughly 96 A50-style vertical-launch cells are split equally fore and aft, with another 48 Mark 41 cells for strike weapons. A double or possibly triple hangar accommodates Merlin-sized helicopters, and the ship receives full command facilities. Modern combined gas-and-diesel-electric machinery replaces the original plant. Rebuilding all three Tigers this way is imagined as a substantial reinforcement alongside six Type 45 destroyers. An additional eight single 40 mm Bofors guns are floated as a further defence against drone and missile swarms.
